2016-17 John Craig Shield Under-15 representative team.

The John Craig Shield is a representative competition run by the Victorian Sub-district Cricket Association (VSDCA) to identify and encourage talented young cricketers. All VSDCA clubs enter a representative side in the competition which is held over two weeks in January of each year, drawing from young players across their catchment.

This competition is an excellent stepping stone between junior cricket, Dowling Shield, Premier Cricket and beyond. This competition also provides young cricketers experience playing on quality turf pitches and against other promising young crickets from across Melbourne.

Brunswick Cricket Club has appointed 1st XI player and school teacher Dan Wright as the John Craig Shield coach for the 2016-17 season with last years coach Beau as his assistant. Dan and Beau will be supported by senior coaches and players from the club.
